Are you one of the 70% of couples who get engaged between Thanksgiving and Valentines’ Day? Your first step of course is to pick some possible dates. As you are doing your wedding planning and looking at wedding dates for 2016, most people try to plan their wedding for a unique date (which also makes it easy for their husbands to remember later!). Here are some of the more popular and unique wedding dates for 2016:
Saturday January 6 – the date repeats – 1/6/16
Sunday February 14 – yes it is Valentine’s Day, but for the math lovers, the date adds up – 2/14/16. Also be mindful that Valentine’s Day falls on President’s Day weekend, so banks will be closed and travel may be affected so plan accordingly.
Monday February 29 – Leap Year, but guys don’t think you will get out of celebrating your anniversary every 4 years!
Sunday March 13 – another math day – 3/13/16
Friday April 1 – April Fool’s Day
Wednesday June 1 – for the wedding nerds here is a nice palindrome 6/1/16
Friday June 10 – another palindrome and a math day 6/10/16
Two more palindromes – Saturday June 11 and Sunday June 19 – 6/11/16 and 6/19/16

Superbowl Sunday – February 7, 2016
NCAA Final Four – April 2 and April 4
World Series – usually falls in late October
NBA Finals – usually around mid-June
BCS and Bowl games – Late December to Early January
Keep in mind also, that as you choose a wedding date, some days are less expensive than others for wedding vendors (wedding venues are cheaper sometimes on weekdays vs weekends, and Sunday is often less expensive than Saturday) but some days are more expensive for other wedding vendors (photographers, caterers, florist, etc. sometimes will charge more for working holidays)
