You don’t have to wait until Christmastime to shoot fun family Christmas pictures. Depending on your vision, you can use props and decorations any time of the year. Most people use the family Christmas pictures for Christmas gifts (they make great gift ideas) and Christmas cards (the Christmas picture can be an annual family tradition).
Fun family Christmas pictures are best when the entire family is included as those are some of the best memories. Here are a few of my favorites from a family photo shoot . When shooting family Christmas pictures, of course you want to include the whole family, but take the time to get updated individual pictures of the kids. This is a good time as well for shots of the parents. This includes single parents as well. This is a good time for you to have a nice holiday themed, updated picture of yourself while making memories with the children.)
Allow the children to have fun, play, be themselves as much as possible. Of course you can pose some pictures and your photographer can assist with that, but, just like on Christmas morning, have fun! Is there a favorite holiday activity you enjoy? Have some of the pictures taken doing that!
